Over Finance Fortnight, the following enterprising projects are going on at Westdene Primary.

Reception – Baking Sale – looking to reduce food waste

Year 1 – Fruit Kebab sale – after learning about healthy eating, food miles, seasonality and Fair Trade.

Year 2 – Easter Marketplace – tasty treats, games and activities for the rest of the school to enjoy.  Re-use and re-gifting of prizes is encouraged.

Year 3 – learning about Fair Trade through chocolate and bananas.

Year 4 – focus on packaging and recycling. They will be leading an assembly to educate the school on how as consumers they can make eco-friendly choices when buying groceries.

Year 5+6 – learning from Lucy from B Sussed (Sustainability Consultant & Net Zero Champion).  The children learnt all about sustainability in the building industry to inspire them in their own design project. On Enterprise Day they will work in teams to pool ideas for an intergenerational village of the future.
