One of the most powerful ways to engage children and young people with the environment and the themes of climate change and sustainability is through story. Schools should aim to integrate these stories naturally into their children’s and young people’s reading experience. The book lists presented below will enable you to develop a library of suitable texts. Alongside their place in school and class libraries they should also be part of guided reading sets, book weeks, book reviews and whole class texts.
