We are running an OCOW session for School Business Managers on 20th March 2024, at Brighton Town Hall from 9am-3:30pm.
SBMs have a key role to play in OCOW, in particular with the aim ‘to develop school organisational systems and practices which support sustainability and contribute to Brighton & Hove’s Carbon Neutral 2030 pledge.’
The aims of the session are:
- To give SBMs the necessary background in OCOW and climate science to enable to them to support sustainability in their schools
- To understand how school operations contribute to school emissions and simple and impactful ways of reducing emissions
- To learn how to use the ‘Count Your Carbon’ tool to measure a schools baseline emissions
- To begin to develop a School Climate Action to reduce school emissions.
We are very pleased to welcome two Climate Action Advisors from Let’s Go Zero to join us for part of the session to share their experience of supporting school decarbonisation.
